My approach..
Combining traditional psychotherapy with hypnotherapy, a
therapeutic technique that uses hypnosis, a deeply relaxed state, to access the
most powerful part of you, your subconscious mind, in order to achieve healing,
self awareness, growth, and lasting behavioral change.
As far as traditional
psychotherapy goes, my approach is generally cognitive- behavioral, which focus
on modifying cognition, assumptions, beliefs and behaviors, with the end result
of changing maladaptive behaviors. However, I strongly believe in
psychotherapy integration and therefore employ a variety of treatment modalities
and techniques. As I mentioned above, I use hypnosis, as well as family
systems, and NLP techniques. In the end, I tailor my techniques, goals,
and interventions to the client's need.

Specialties
Depression & Anxiety.. We all had experienced some degree of sadness and anxiety in our lives. However, when symptoms of depression and anxiety cause significant distress or impairment in one's social, occupational or professional areas of life, one's quality of life is impaired. Those suffering from clinical depression, and/or an anxiety disorder might respond well to medication, therapy, or both.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.. Post Traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) result from exposure to an overwhelmingly stressful event/events, such as war, being a victim of abuse, being in or witnessing a car accident, etc. It is a normal response by normal people to abnormal situations. Some of the symptoms you might experience are flashbacks, emotional and physical arousal, and/or emotional and physical avoidance. Coping with PTSD can be done with cognitive restructuring, relaxation techniques, and guided imagery.
Parenting Issues.. When do you become a parent? Who teaches us how to be good parents? Parenting is a relationship - with our own parents, with ourselves, and with our children. We have to consider our child's physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs. It is in essence the toughest and the most important job that you will ever do in your life time. I have worked with families whose child was facing difficulties in school (both academically and social), that in turn led to an escalating behavioral problems both at school and home. Parents who did not know how to build appropriate boundaries with their children (too strict or too lenient). Families who were disconnected from one another, with so much emotional hurt that even looking at one another caused a great deal of emotions. Whether the issue is simple or complicated, establishing healthy relationships with our children is our gift to them.
Hypnotherapy .. use exercises that bring about deep relaxation and an altered state of consciousness.
Grief and Loss.. Grieving takes place after any sort of loss, but most powerfully after the death of someone we love. Your grief is dependent upon the meaning of your loss, your own personal charectaristics, the type of death ( sudden vs. after a long ilness), your social support and your physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual states. Grief is a process and we all grieve differently. My role as a therapist is to normalize your feelings, provide a safe place for emotional release and assist in readjusting to a new reality.
